Sicher Elevators Power Urban Renewal, Bringing New Life to Aging Residential Communities in Tianjin

As cities continue to grow at a rapid pace, many residential complexes built over a decade ago are facing aging infrastructure, with elevator malfunctions becoming a significant daily concern for residents. Modernizing outdated elevators has become a vital part of China’s broader urban renewal strategy—not only enhancing mobility but also improving quality of life and shaping a better urban image.

Tianjin, a key city in the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, has been actively advancing the renovation of older neighborhoods in recent years, aiming to upgrade living standards across the city. One such project is the Gaoxin Apartments in the Wuqing Development Zone—an important housing complex situated between National Highway 104 to the west and a bustling industrial park to the east, providing homes for many local employees.

Covering approximately 74,000 square meters and comprising 1,997 housing units, Gaoxin Apartments has long played a vital role in securing residential stability for workers in the area. However, over time, the original elevators began to suffer from frequent breakdowns and excessive noise, prompting growing demand from residents for a safer and more comfortable ride.

Sicher, a publicly listed elevator manufacturer on the A-share market, has actively embraced national urban renewal policies and contributed its deep expertise in elevator modernization. For this project, Sicher tailored a solution featuring 12 machine-room-less passenger elevators. With upgraded cabin materials, intelligent dispatching systems, and regenerative energy technology, the new installations significantly enhance safety and comfort while cutting energy consumption—bringing the concept of sustainable mobility to life and offering residents peace of mind every time they ride.

Looking ahead, Sicher remains committed to supporting urban revitalization. Through innovative technologies and a people-first approach, the company continues to breathe new life into aging communities—helping more residents experience the warmth and vitality of urban progress.
